Mark AP Interview
At this point, it’s safe to say that Mark Hoppus is a human dynamo. Best known for his role in potty mouthed pop-punk trio Blink-182, the 38-year-old is more than just a mere bassist, having juggled production duties, podcasts, high-profile collaborations and more in recent years. His newest endeavor? A Different Spin With Mark Hoppus, a weekly, hour-long program hosted by its namesake airing on Fuse starting this September. We caught up with Hoppus to get the scoop on what his new venture is all about, as well as get an update on whether or not we’ll hear new Blink music before the world ends in 2012.

Mark Hoppus Talks Trousdale Press Project With All Time Low
‘We’re hoping to have the album tracking finished in the next two weeks,’ Blink-182 bassist tells MTV News.
Earlier this week, All Time Low took to their Twitter account to let fans know that they were logging some studio time with Mark Hoppus. It was an announcement that was greeted with much enthusiasm from the band’s fans, though it wasn’t exactly surprising.

How’s the new album sounding?
Tom DeLonge (vocals/guitar): “It’s sounding great and we’re very excited that we were able to achieve something with the record and the film that’s pretty different than we’ve done in the past. It was a lot more challenging but it also freed us to be more ambitious than we ever have. The songs are more like compositions than the more traditional songs that we’ve done in the past. It’s really something that everyone involved is really excited about.”

Travis Barker is a successful musician, who broke onto the scene with Blink-182 in the mid-90s. While his love for music has always been strong — he’s worked with some of the industry’s best in all genres — Travis also has a passion for clothing, and acted upon it with the launch of Famous Stars & Straps in 1999, not knowing it’d be here 10 years later and bigger than ever.
Today, the brand is one of the most well-known lifestyle brands on the planet, and has garnered co-signs from some of the biggest rock, rap, and sports stars. If you ask Travis if he thought Famous Stars & Straps would be this big back in 1999 when he originally launched it, he’d tell you “Nah, never ever.” But because his dedication and work ethic, he’s been able to turn the impossible into the possible.
With 10 years in the can and the future ahead of him, Ballerstatus catches up with Travis as he and his company celebrate the milestone. He reminisces a little about why he started the line, some of the highlights, and where they’re headed.
